Pastor

A Lay Pastor since 2018, Pastor Judy will complete her Master of Divinity from Luther House of Study (Sioux Falls, SD) in Spring of 2025.  She completed her internship at Immanuel under the direction of Luther House and the supervision of Pastor Steve Lien.  Her undergraduate degree in art education with an English minor, is from Montana State University, Bozeman.   Judy and Mike (Mic) own M & M Sales and Service in Joliet, have three grown children, five grandchildren, and three cats.  Serving the Lord and proclaiming the Good News of the Gospel is the culmination, says Pastor Judy, of a lifetime of living, listening, and learning. 

Director of Music Ministry, Choir Director

Dan sang in the Immanuel Lutheran choir as a youngster, in family ensembles, then later in the Waldorf College Concert Choir.  Since answering Immanuel’s call for a choir director more than thirty years ago, Dan has challenged Immanuel singers with anthems ranging from Bach chorales to Appalachian folk.  A rancher, writer, and retired teacher, Dan also soloed with and directed the Stillwater Community Choir for several seasons, presenting a Lenten cantata and the Easter portion of Handel’s Messiah. 

Assistant Music Director, Principal Organist

Accompanies Immanuel’s choir and sings soprano.  She studied music at Kent State University (Ohio) with graduate studies at Montana State and the University of Montana.
Sandy taught music for decades—first in the Hiram, Ohio School System; then for 28 years in the Ronan, Montana School System where she taught and led the vocal music program.  Her choirs and ensembles received many Superior ratings.

Treasurer

She has two sons and six grandchildren, all living in the Billings area.  Her mom and dad were from the Absarokee area, and when she felt the need to settle down, she chose Absarokee to live because of the wonderful community and the beauty of the area.
