Local Missions
Immanuel networks with “partners in ministry” to spread the love and gospel of Jesus Christ to people beyond our congregation.
-
Absarokee Food Bank
Immanuel supports the Absarokee Food Bank, feeding those in need. On the first Sunday of each month, people bring food, consumables, and/or toiletries to Immanuel to support our local Food Bank. As a primary mission charity, we also support the food bank with our “Noisy Offerings” (on the 3rd Sunday of each month we collect a Noisy Offering during worship, in large pots where people throw in their pocket change).
-
Special K Ranch

Regional and Global Partners in Ministry
-
St. John’s United
Immanuel was one of 24 Lutheran congregations in Montana that founded St. Johns in 1960. As one of those 24 congregations, Immanuel is an “owner” of St. John’s, and we cherish our affiliation and partnership in ministry. Each quarter of the calendar year Immanuel sends a financial contribution to St. John’s United. We also send delegates to meetings and helpers for special events in support of the shared ministry.

Lutheran Congregations in Ministry for Christ
In 2022, Immanuel joined the LCMC. This association of over 1000 Lutheran congregations world-wide is rooted in the Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions. LCMC and their member congregations strive to be a light to the world, not a reflection of it. We view God’s word as the #1 authority when it comes to our faith and how we practice it. We believe the Lutheran Confessions to be a faithful witness to the truth of Scripture and that they give us reliable principles by which to guide the continued development of this association. Immanuel sends quarterly financial contributions to LCMC.
-
Luther House of Study
This fully accredited Lutheran Seminary teaches people to preach and to hear the Gospel by training pastors, supporting ministers, and providing resources to congregations. Anchored in Lutheran theology and grounded in the foundation of Lutheran education, LHOS strengthens Lutheran leadership and ministries for the proclamation of the Gospel. Our Pastor, Judy Manweiler, will finish her Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Luther House of Study within the next few months. Immanuel sends quarterly financial contributions to LHOS.

Lutheran World Relief
Lutheran World Relief (LWR) was founded by Lutherans in the USA at the end of World War II, grounded in Lutheran theology. LWR tackles global poverty by helping people adapt to the challenges that threaten their livelihoods and well-being based on need, regardless of race, religion, or nationality. LWR provides aid in emergencies and helps families restore their lives. Partnering with communities to build and grow rural economies, LWR seeks to break the cycle of poverty, so families and communities can thrive. The goal is to help people build self‐sufficiency and create new community‐owned approaches to problem‐solving that will last long after our projects end.
